Doramectin is used to treat ectoparasmic diseases such as nematodiasis and acariasis of domestic animals. It is produced by a new strain of recombinant Streptomyces avermitilis. The main difference between doramectin and ivermectin is that the C25 position is replaced by cyclohexyl, which is a novel, broad-spectrum anti-parasitic drug.
